Found a pigeon who was wandering in the yard - never see pigeons. In the evening, found pigeon dead. Sweet bird has an orange band on one leg and a red with a number on the other. Should I do anything?

Try contacting American Racing Pigeon Union or the International Federation of American Pigeon Fanciers. Have the band numbers ready & take a photo if possible. Orange band on left leg might belong to different group then right-legged orange band.

Sounds like someone was tracking the little guy. Maybe call and let them know what you found. They may know who was tracking him. I would think they would want to know.
