Why can’t you guys send packages that are too big to my front door? I hate going all the way to your post office just for a package when you could just place it at my door step. Not even 2 miles away from my mail box!!

UPS and FedEx are not "mail box" delivery companies. They are "to the door" delivery services. The postal service is a "mail box" delivery company and it is not their responsibility to delivery anywhere but your mailbox. In a gated community circumstance, they are only required to deliver to mailboxes. Some communities offer large keyed boxes for USPS to leave packages in, however, if a package is too big or if there are no keyed boxes available, it is the responsibility of the recipient to pick up their package. If you need "to the door" services, it would be best to order for delivery via UPS or FedEx. Many online companies now offer delivery options

hello I don't understand it neither I live in a gated community in Pennsylvania which when the packages are too big they return it back to the post office and leave a slip for you to pick it up I don't believe it's our responsibility when the tax pay is pay for a postal service it should get delivered to the front door. Because if it's good for UPS and FedEx it should be good for USPS to do as well the front door

The Postal Service receives NO tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
