What does the airplane stand for again?

Military.

I can't exactly remember, but there is a plaque or two that explains all about it right outside the gated area.

The airplane is a reminder of the origins of the park, it used to be a Navy Ammunition Depot (N.A.D.)

NAD stands for Naval Ammunition Depot. Its a Navy plane.
