Walking is the only way unless you pay to stay there for a week. If you decide to stay, they will shuttle you out there on an ATV with all of your supplies. It sounds pretty cool.
Though there are a few signs on the spit directing boats on where to go, I didn't see any. The surrounding ecosystem is fragile enough that your best bet is probably to walk. 👍

If you sign up to volunteer at the lighthouse they will drive you out and pick you up at the end of your stay. That is the only way I know you can get driven out.
If own a boat, you can use it to get up to the light house. However, you need a reservation for that.
