I wore my flip flops on some of the water slides and no one mentioned anything. However I think it's technically against their rules.

No. Even water shoes must be taken off. You can hold them. WEAR SHOES the ground is awful.
I believe general consensus is no, but you can hold on to them at least I have been able to in the past. They just repaved this year so it's best to usually go barefoot unless you are going outside the water area.
