A lot of people that go to Andy's are locals so we know about the service fee. That service fee goes to the people in the back that aren't visible to you, the cooks and bussers specifically. It's printed on your bill and if you miss it I can see where you would be irritated.
Hmmmm, didn't notice that when i was there, but i had a beer, too ☺️ perhaps they should increase the menu items by 6% or state on the menu that a service fee will be added.
Got to read the fine print. 😀 Instead of tipping 20% you can adjust your tip 13.5%.
If it's not clearly stated on the menu it is indefensible. And that's whether you love the place, the service, the staff, or if you're a big tipper.
We WERE going to go there tonight for dinner...THANKFULLY I read reviews and came upon this info. I've eaten there many times over the past 15 years but not in the last yr or 2. A TIP is for EXCELLENT SERVICE. I would expect the wait staff to honor the folks who help to make their JOB easier Or for this very successful business to pay their staff better.
Wow I better start paying more attention to my bill. That's a bummer if they do automatically factor in tips but as far as I can see it the service is always great and the food even better so I'll deal with it!
Its not a tip and it doesnt go to your server. Service fees are a growing trend that are put in place in areas such as ours and San Francisco to combat the high cost of living and operating in said regions. Eating out is a luxury as it is so if it truly is that big of a deal I wouldn't recommend continuing to do so
It’s pretty clearly stated on the menu.
Lots of resraunts are doing this because the back of the house never received part of the tip from the wait staff
Seems fine to me. We tip well for good service and I dont mind knowing the cooks are getting a little as well. Love the place.
