Just to clarify, leashes are required within the park but there is no statewide leash law.
THERE IS N O STATE LEASH LAW, it’s a CITY ORDINANCE! Please go to Mercer Island where they have selective areas in their city ordinance there’s no dogs on leashes in almost all parks, only leashed in childrens’ areas / playgrounds which is polite and common sense!

Dogs are required to be on a leash, some people let their dog's off. but it's a state law all dogs be on a leash. Regardless of temperament or training

People are pretty chill. Rules are leash but there are lots of spots to let your dog go for a swim and if the dog is well behaved then most people wont complain. My dog is never on a leash there, but he listens well and i take him for a long swim so he stays cool.
