The trails are great for walking solo, with pets, or biking. Going off the trail isn't bad either if you follow the game trails the animals use.
Yes ma'am there are good hiking trails and the hills surrounded the whole town of junction even out at the state park.

25 miles of hiking/biking trails in the park. Trails on the river side of the park are flat, some hills on the other side of the park.

I would rate the hikes there as OK. You definitely can get a workout. The trails have several bird blinds so take your map with you & you will better know where you are by which bird blind you have come up on.
We enjoyed the hiking trails. There is one that does end on top of a hill with really good views. It is marked on the park map as a scenic overlook.
