Hi I'm planning to go just for a day because it looks like an amazing place but my wife heard about alligators being around, is that true?

Gators dont like the cold water been many x's never seen one not even on the river run

Joanna Hart | Jul 3, 2018

I did not see any when we went last year. I went tubing and saw a lot of turtles sunning themselves but no gators in the mix. It is very relaxing.

They will leave you alone, if you leave them alone. We dive there every year and I have not seen one yet, but that doesn't mean they are not there.

Gators avoid humans especially children, and at a consistent 72°year round water temperature and water clarity in the springs they opt for more warmer swamp water and muck for camouflage and serenity .

The water coming up from the springs and feeding the river makes it too cold for alligators. I've been going periodically my whole life and have never seen or heard of one, although I'm sure its not impossible. Its very safe, mostly turtles and small fish.

No gator. Probably 10 years ago all the gator move to different areas due to the traffic of people in the area

I did not see any alligators on my camping trip. We were there 3 nightz. A skunk, armadillo, and raccoon...but no gators!
