Do you still allow non-cave divers to dive the cavern? Used to have a rope...non overhead cavern? I dove 2 a long time ago. I also will be alone. I'll check my logbook for the name...they may have changed the rules.

There are places that open water divers can explore like the ballroom but you need to be cave certified to go deeper into the caverns.

Is there any natural predators in the water we need to know or worry about? I'm trying to plan a vacation for my better half and myself. And this sounds perfect so far

Last time I was at Ginnie the medical examiner and Sheriff dept. pulled a dead body out of a cave. Please get certified...

You are referring to the BALLROOM...and yes it is open to all. The rope is still there. Lately there has been a tendency for them to not let you pay and get a wristband unless you have a buddy so I would call to verify.

You have to be cave certified. They do have classes on site. Devil eye is all overhead cave dive. That where you cave dive.

Yes get certified the caverns go deep and a novice could and have lost their way a few have never returned

You can enter the Ballroom on the main spring as OW but you need a buddy and need to follow the posted rules. You can dive on the Devils side but without lights and you cannot enter the cavern area. Its for cave trained divers only from Cavern on in through miles of passages. There are three holes to drop down into and the Ear out near the river is often covered with dark water. It gives a special view looking up you will not soon forget

Not normally, you have to be cave certified.
