My family and I (two kids:. 11yrs and 13yrs) spent 5 hours there and that was perfect. Saw the dolphin and bird show plus fed the rays. Got to see every exhibit without rushing with 15 mins to spend in the gift shop just before closing.
The shows get seriously packed.. we decided to go at 2pm to the dolphin 3pm show and when we got to the sitting area, there were very minimal sitting. If you want good shade, you will have to plan very early on to arrive early. By the time the show started, people were frustrated and tired of the heat.
3 story building of Birds, Fish, sharks, otters and dolphins. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. You can 'tour' at your pace. Elevators make is easy for people with special needs to get around.
I would say 3 hours minimum.
There is no limit on the amount of time you can spend at the aquarium (within business hours). Fyi... Food is seriously overpriced though so plan accordingly.
It depends on how long u want to take. 4 of us went through in about 3-4 hours. We watched a few shows. You could stay all day if you wanted.
