Im planning a trip with my granddaughter. Can anyone tell me the best shelter locations to pick? Or which area in park you liked best?

You can go on the TPWD website and view a complete map of the park with exact numbering of campsites and lodging locations that even shows you wh e.g. re they ate in relation to the water.

It all depends if there is availability, when we went there was hardly any.

I think the cabins are the best. The screened shelters get really cold at night.

I liked new gardner. We just stayed in the live oak section. Has running water and electricity. Or you can rent a cabin in old gardner

Thanks. I was planning it for late August and reserving it online. I didnt know there were cabins. I will check that out. @Richard was this close to the river? Or are ones close to river best? Or will you get a lot of people walking through your site?
