When you call ahead you will be given the present "average" waiting time, and your name with be put on the waiting list. You plan your arrival within that time range. When you arrive, check in right inside the door. You will be given a pager, and told about how much longer your wait for a table will be. Your waiting time will be far less than what it will be if you just drive up. Expecially when it's busy at peak hours.
