You can pay when you pull up, they only take cash at the gate. Cards are accepted at the concessions stand!
You can also buy a deal on Groupon and you then get a free medium popcorn, and a large drink with your two tickets. Groupon regularly has that deal on there so keep checking in case it's not there when you look.
