We were just there two days ago. The trail was very icy but passable. Best to bring some crampons for traction but can be hiked with just boots usually. Also a heads up, the road is closed in the winter so you have an extra 3 miles of roads to hike first.
Storm Warning for Sunday and Monday in SLC so I'd assume they'll get some too. I'm heading there tomorrow though, definitely bringing traction.
