Has anyone been out to Ladonia in the past couple of days? If so, is it flooded or are there areas you can walk in the river/creek bed to look for fossils?

I went a week ago there's water, quite a bit but it is only about 3 to 9 inches deep most places. Water is warm and the shale is slippery but is great to go walk around in the water and let the kids play while looking for fossils. There were 2 well worn mosasaur vertebrae and 3 shark teeth found along with lots of oyter shells.

I'm not sure about there but if your leaving paris and going towards sulphur spring there's the same river. It's pretty full of water too. If you do end up going be careful cause the steps going down to the water me and my 1 year old son found a snake when we was climbing up it.

I haven't personally, but I usually use the link below to monitor the water level before I go out (if the link is broken google "hydrograph sulphur river at cooper" Right now (3/19/20) it says 5 feet which I'd be wary of, that might be a bit high. Be safe! https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=fwd&gage=cppt2

We've had flash flooding for the past 3 days, most likely, very dangerous

Thanks for the link Sarah, that’s very helpful!
