It's both indoor and outdoor. There's an outdoor area where they burn a special type of wood to create the charcoal that acts as a filter inside the distillery itself. By the way, I used to know a Jon Raz in Illinois.
The tour combines both inside and out. The walk is very informative and exciting. If you are able try the flyght tour.
Mostly indoors, but there is a little bit of outdoor walking between buildings and where the bus drops you off.
