How hard is it for kids to actually find gems in ur most basic package?

I wouldn't do the cheapest package. Go up at least one bucket size.

We do the $60 5 gallon bucket & it gives you an abundance of things to find. They recommend you keep all the tiny rocks that accumulate in the bottom bc there can be some precious gems in them but too small to tell without studying them.

We had a blast with our kid's. We got one big bucket between the four of us and found a lot. The owner's are very nice down to earth people! It was snowing when we went (in April) and they had an inside set up with heaters while you mined.
