How do I make an appointment to talk to someone in the VA office about benefits? Is there a special phone number, day or time when the VA takes calls?

benefits.va.gov is where you can learn all about benefits. The VBA Veterans Benefits Administration are the folks that deal with benefits. The local regional office in your area is where you would apply for Veterans disability benefits, for Santa Rosa it would be the office in Oakland. You can actually start a claim for VA disability on the ebenefits website after you register. There are instructions on the benefits site. The benefits phone number is 1-800-827-1000 they could answer your specific questions. The VHA is the Veterans Health Administration which is what the Santa Rosa CBOC is and that is where you would get medical care as a qualifying Veteran, it is not where you would apply for benefits or get exams for disability. But the folks there could help direct you if you have questions.
