After I left the pump.. There was a pending hold of a $100 on my card..... How in the world does this happen! How $100?!! Why $100?! Plus the gas I used which is $40..

Never used your card to get gas. The same thing happened to my mother. She got her money back. You need to go back to Meijer and asked what happened.
