With Verizon, yes.

Verizon works great all the way down to the water.

Both my AT&T and Verizon Jetpacks worked great down at the lake sites. When the CG filled up I did find it necessary to use my Yagi and point at the tower. But, I am a web dev, and I may need more speed than you. In short, you should be fine if you are at a lake site. I also had no problem with basic Verizon call service anywhere in the CG. It does need to be noted that people have had different experiences with DATA in different parts of the CG. I only have stayed down at the lake sites.

I had a good connection without WiFi using Verizon.

There's no wifi and for us there wasn't good enough phone reception for data. It's very hilly and there are lots of trees!
