You need to be there to be placed on the waiting list and they stop putting people on the list at 4:00pm.
I think the no reservation thing is new this year, or since the pandemic started. They probably didn't update the rest of the site. You have to be in person to put your name on the wait-list.
Reservation can be me made only on the spot between certain hours
When I was there last week,it was a 2 hour wait. Our group went for a walk.
I’d suggest to just give them a call. The receptionists are all very nice.
