Rice and naan help to take the edge off the spice. Get the lassi drink which has a yogurt base and there are a few flavors - I love mango. Other cultures use milk based drinks to counter spice. Think Mexican horchata. Or have a milkshake with hot wings. From the Mideast we see dough, pronounced doh, dokh, or dookh, depending on the source. That's a similar drink with cucumber. If you think that's weird, it's delicious, think Greek tsatsiki. Take it slow and try to learn to enjoy the sensation of the heat - it's not just hot or painful. :)
The food is spicy because that's indicative of Indian food. If you want something that's not spicy but delicious try the chicken tikka masala. Get some garlic naan bread and some of their cream spinach.. Enjoy
Spice and delicious $ great take out choice
Warning: The Chicken Achari and Chicken curry are both extremely spicy. Yet, I loved the flavors... Next time I will stick to my usual Ckicken Tikka masala, tikki chaat, creamy Spinach and mild Bharta... I am an if is and experiment with different spices...esp chillies... Not everything red in color needs to be spicy because Kashmiri chillies and cayenne are not that Spicy... Like Chicken Tandoori is red but not that Spicy... Thanks for all the great suggestions..
I have only been to the grocery store
Try Navratan Korma, my kids don't eat that spicy, this is their favorite dish !
If its reddish in color, it's spicy. They have some non spicy curries in display in Nina's. Not all Indian food is spicy. Try their dosa, some chat items from menu, bhatura. Chicken tikka, paneer and navratan korma combo is delish. And of course you can ask them to make your food less spicy
Most of the Indian curries are spicy...try some chat
It's spicy because it's Indian food.... Duh??!!!
Indian food is often spiced with curry (which can vary in intensity). If you are not accustomed to the spice, it can seem very 'hot' indeed.
