You only pay the toll from just west of KC to just east of Topeka. The rest of the KS turnpike is I-35 and a couple of its bypasses and spurs such as I-135. The rest of I-70 is freeway I recommend getting the KTAG since it allows you to use the open road tolling lanes and saves you 30% if you're going to be running that route frequently. KTag also works on all Oklahoma turnpikes.
From Missouri to a spot in KS we paid 3.70. But that was in August.
