The park itself is sandy, but, from the Pavilion entrance which has good parking, you can join the beach and move south toward the creek, that direction has excellent banks for rock hunting. Same with just north of the park, follow the highway along the fence of the park and turn when it does, takes you straight to make Huron and a parking space, and hit the beach there and turn North or to your left and it is ungodly amount of treasures. Good luck
Depends what you are looking for. Lots of stone.
I found a few good rocks there.
