Thank you for your help Michael Emery, my boys want me to deer hunt with them. One of them has a 30-06 but that has quite a kick, the other has a 308. Thank you for your suggestions
What kind of hunting, field, woods, thick brush. Im also a lefty but shoot both ways. 223 good for field bullet is light a small branch will through it off. 30-30 good for brush and woods hunting field as well but not good for long rang. 270 good for range field and woods. 308 or 30-06 are good all around guns but can be heavy to care after a while.
