It's partially paved to make it handicap accessible. Not steep at all (less than 800' gain) and a beautiful view at the top.
The first .7mile is paved, yes. Then you take a left onto a steeper section and it's covered with rocks, and roots making it more challenging for the next mile... You can follow the markets here to the summit. Good hike for older children, leashed dog but not for the elderly as even trech poles aren't secure , in my opinion. Hope this helps! Have fun! Patty
