Jennifer is correct about the condo parking and the business west of McMenamins restaurant. If you park in lower Downtown Vancouver you may need to feed a parking meter except on weekends.
There is free parking all along the trail. Be sure that you are not parking in a business lot or someone's reserved condo parking.
