They will allow early check in if your room type is available, I have not been charged a fee in the past and I do so on a regular basis. There may be limited availability. I have checked in as early as 9:00 AM
3pm, but they are really good about letting you check in early if the room is available.

It depends on if your room is ready.. Usually I never try to check in until after 1 pm,, but that is just my personal choice.
3pm is check in, they might be able to check you in before if there's availability and for an extra charge
