Jen M, I couldn't have responded better myself. People in the hospitality industry need a day off, too. And the day that is the least profitable would be the day to do that. Door County summers ARE short, everyone should get a day a week off to enjoy themselves, rest, do errands. Sheesh. From the tone of Jerry's words, he wouldn't have been satisfied with the food or the service anyway. Would've been a terrible tipper. ;-)
Because in Door County overall Tues is the least busiest in regards to profit. The amount of visitors is less then most other days. Also in the current political climate there is a shortfall of employees available to work overall in the industry, even if they were open they may not have enough staff or their staff may be experiencing burn out. This could result in a poor experience for both the consumer an provider leading to further potential decline in consumers related to poor reviews. From the tone of your post one might think that you did not research your choices prior to wanting to commit to them, I.e. you didn't even Google their open times, you just assumed that anything you wanted would be available at your beck and call. Perhaps further on you may change that decision process after this encounter.
Based on that tone, they don't want you there anyway. P.S. last time I checked they were open year around so they dont get "6 months to rest".
So having 6 mos off isn't enough
