The overall the experience was great! We had had excellent seafood, including the surf and turf, Calamari, Lobster Bisque, and the Friday Night Fish Fry [featured in photo]. Our party of six was seated indoors at the back window that over looks the view out to the lake and man was it an absolutely stunning view. My only negative was it seemed the waitress didn't like us. We were a "younger-aged" group and she just seemed to be very short with us. Could have been an off night for her, but it was noticeable.

Stopped for lunch, nice view of the lake on the back patio. Lobster bisque was good but needed seasoning, I added a lot of black pepper. Unfortunately the fish and chips was not good. Apparently fresh caught perch, but was dry and hard, so maybe they over fried it? I don't know. Did not taste good or fresh. The fries were cold and cheap. Definitely not worth the price. Service was good.

Great view, delicious food, friendly service and dog friendly! We came here because they have an actual dog menu, we got our dog the burger with kibble. We enjoyed the lobster boil which is boiled basically right outside infront of us. It was amazing! The lobster boil is a 3 course meal with lobster bisque, lobster boiled with clams, muscles, potatoes, and corn, then to top it off you get cherry bread pudding which was to die for!

Although the food was excellent and the service was acceptable, being seated in the middle of a gravel parking lot was unacceptable. Made reservations two weeks in advance, noting it was our first visit for my wife's birthday. I'd say they are more concerned about you showing up for your reservation that your actual experience while you're there. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and were promptly escorted to the hotest, in the sun table in a gravel parking lot even though all the tables were open except one. Not the "Door County" experience I was hoping for. Too many great choices in "The Door" to consider returning.

Question for owner: Who is the artist of the 'fish' you have displayed in your restaurant? Your restaurant is our favorite in Door County! Millie Moffett. (Respond directly to this email, not to Lincoln Hartford)

The artist is Donald Sallenbach from Green Bay. He is terrific!
