Just visited and tent camped. A sign at bottom of the drive/entrance of park mentioned picnics and camping were allowed. Picnic tables and BBQ grill spaces are there. No cars or campers though, only foot traffic from parking area.
If you do not get caught, absolutely! Just claim you did not see the sign that says you cant be down there past dark
