UPDATE: I dont know about the other states but in Illinois when you go to the Secretary of State's office to renew your license you aren't given a new license at that time. Instead, your license is punched by them which designates you have renewed it. You then get your new one in the mail. That's what happens in Illinois. Have no idea how other states handle it. In illinois that punch hole tells people that the license is a temporary one as you are waiting for the new one in the mail. It is suppose to still be a valid drivers license.
Hi Donald. We are sorry to hear you weren't allowed admission to our casino. Hole punched ID's are not valid forms of ID as they are punched by the state due to a revoked or expired license. We here at Rhythm City only accept valid photo IDs, since yours was not valid, we could not allow you in. However, if you had a state ID, military ID or passport, we would have been able to let you in.
Ron, I'm in Illinois and I also got a photo copy receipt as prove of renewal.
i used to be a bouncer you have to have a current valid form of i. d typically your drivers license.
In many places a hole punched in a license means it is no longer valid. As a security guard we are not allowed to accept an invalid id or license. Only current/valid forms of ID are acceptable.
