Why do u close so early?

I thought it closed at 6, now i feel dumb

All GameStops close at 9pm or in some locations 10pm. Except on Sundays. Sometimes the store stays open for midnight releases. But the shop closes at 9pm so it's employees can close down the store and complete paperwork and reorganization of the store so hopefully they can get home sometime before midnight. People do have families to go home to, and the store is open 11 hours a day. It's also probably not cost effective to stay open any later than 9pm - 10pm because there are fewer customers to tend to.
