Why does asset protection or loss prevention not find a customer's left-behind items a priority if I leave behind a case of diapers and call twice to hear call loss prevention and call loss prevention to hear it's not a pressing issue why is that?

Loss prevention is more concerned with theft than retrieval of items. You might have some luck with customer service but your best chance at getting your item would be to go back to the store with your receipt and see if customer service would honor your mistake providing there hasn't been a large time lapse of maybe 10 minutes or more. Good luck pleading your case cause if it goes back on the shelf, your retrieval "window" is closed.

Loss prevention is security system employed by companies to prevent theft...camera surveillance, and security personnel employed to observe nefarious activity....if an item is left behind conceivably cameras could detect what happened...if it was placed back on the shelf it could be retrieved, but another customer could have taken it and retrieving it would be not worth the time...
