M80s, Cherry Bombs and Silver salutes are and illegal and federally banned. They are no longer manufactured and no longer sold legally in any fireworks store since 1973. Persons in possession of these devices are considered a felony and will be charged with unlawful explosives.. Clarification should be noted. Consumer Fireworks (1.4G UN0336) are LEGAL in 48 states. They are Consumer Firecrackers containing no greater than 50mg of powder (Not M80s) , Rockets, Fountains, Aerials, Helicopters, Sparklers, Roman Candles and firework novelty devices designed for consumer use. Consumer fireworks are classified by the US Consumer products safety administration and the U.S Department of Transportation. Display fireworks (1.3G UN0335) are fireworks not for consumer use and are strictly used by licensed professionals for a professional fireworks display. Persons possessing these explosives must be licensed by the BATFE and local and state authorities.

Explosive fireworks ("consumer fireworks") are still illegal in all states for personal purchase. Display fireworks are legal in some states, like NH.

not sure about silver tips,,real m- 80's they stopped making in the 90's.
