Cassondra is correct. During the colder months, the state parks are "open," as in no entrance fee. I've never discovered a set policy concerning the beginning and ending dates for the open period, but I believe it to be just after Thanksgiving to sometime in late March. It may coincide with dates of the two-for-one overnight stay offers for the park inns. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
I believe at this time of the year it is free admission into the park at any time
There are some special events during the year. I know that certain times during the year Veterans get into state parks for a dime. The rest should be listed on their events page. You may have to keep checking back for updates
From Oct to April admissions are free
If you are staying at the Inn they will give you some type of a pass, I believe. Otherwise, peak season admission was $7, I believe, and that is basically just for summer months.
Thank you everyone. God bless!
