But starting June 22, you must have the annual park pass otherwise known as the Recreation Passport, which for people with cars that have Michigan plates, is $16 when you buy it at the park, or $12 when you buy it from the Sec. of State when you renew your plates. There are no daily passes for Michigan residents.
To get into the state park area, you must purchase a day or season pass. Secretary of state also sells a license plate pass good for all state parks. The last day pass I purchased at a state park two years ago was $11.
