I don't live in Illinois, but I'm visiting family near Chicago soon. I've been told that because of certain laws, I cannot bring or shoot any firearms in Illinois with some kind of licence. Can anyone give me a definitive answer one way or the other?

I have brought weapons in from out of state to shoot in Illinois, legal to bring in and shoot, but was told I could not buy ammo in IL without FOID card...so I just bring my own and havent had an issue

I would call the range to confirm but to my knowledge you cannot go on the Range or rent or buy anything but if you go with someone that has a FOID card they could bring one person with them with firearms and ammunition they Supply
