Under normal conditions, swimming is not a requirement. In 2021, with flows being very high, swimming IS required. As long as flows stay at 1500CFS on the Stanislaus River, you do need to know how to swim to participate. If you aren't a good swimmer, always call in before you book a trip and chat with staff about whether the conditions are appropriate for people that cannot swim.
It's recommended that you know how to swim you are given a life jacket and all your party needs to know how to swim you will really need to try not fall out raft it's hard to get in again the river has current the I hope this info is helpful you could always go on there website it's really helpful with good info before you book your trip good luck.
