Hi Cindy - most of the state of Michigan is quarantined and it is illegal to transport it across state and county lines. There are many firewood vendors in our area. Please purchase it locally. Thank you.
It's not the campground, it's the state. There could be larva, or spores you would need a microscope to see. Just don't transport wood, buy it local.
It's best not to transport wood. I have not doubt you cannot prove its 100% not contaminated. I have my own wood too but always just buy at the campgrounds. Even if there was a .001% chance why risk it for $5. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it can't happen or doesn't exist.
I am not sure. I don't know if the band is still in place by bringing in wood from out of the county. We bought wood at the campground and at a place between the campground and Silver City. I guess just call the campground...they will tell you.
