We stay here when we can, although we didn't camp during this visit, we did spend time at the beach and enjoyed a frozen slushy from a vendor that was there that day. This is an awesome campground and park. Word of advice though, call ahead to check and see of availability of sites. They offer beach side sites, wooded sites, rustic sites, most have electric and water. It's runs by the rule of first come - first serve. It's a very popular campground and understandable that they need to do this.

Beyond expectation!!! From inquiring about the place,I have talked to Ms Deb who has the most friendly and accomodating voice I had heard. Drove over 400miles to reach this place, tired with the few hours journey on the road yet so satisfied with what waited us on site.Spectacular!!!Amazing place! Stayed 4 days at the camping station,so peaceful and quiet, friendly people in the office especially Sir Matt, who made extra an mile service by bringing us the woods to our place and most especially the fishing stuff that made my husband's fishing thingy-thing complete and for bringing us fish to taste since we are not able to catch one in our 2nd day of trying fishing. Thanks again sir. The place has a playground,so it's a big factor for someone like us who have kid with us,something to help the stay more entertaining, there is a basketball court for grown ups too. Very clean and well maintained restrooms. All in all,the experience was beyond what we are expecting and we strongly recommend this place.

One of our most anticipated trips of the season! Unfortunately we had a few snags this trip…Second year at this campground.. The First time at this campground that we had to clean up after the previous campers…..#13 Upon arriving we first noticed the abundance of trash and food trash ,banana peels , orange peels and onion peels in our fire pit. There was also rain soaked crackers stuck to the seat of the picnic table. The soaked crackers looked to be wheat thins and were stuck like glue to the one side of the seat of the picnic table. So the first order of business was to clean our campsite from the previous campers. We Removed sticky fly trap tape from the tree that a previous camper had attached to a tree at this site. We chose the last site available #13 by Lake Superior. It had rained for days prior to our arrival. This campsite ground was water logged…. The ground is still muddy & wet and saturated and we’ve been here for 3 days now with a slight mist one night. Two days of sunshine hasn’t dried it up much. Our neighbors had told us the previous campers had a lake of a puddle at this campsite due to all the rain. We had a very difficult time trying to manage our rig , maneuvering our 32 foot rig on the campsite sloped water soaked earth, did I mention the muddy ground? We weren’t able to position our rig where we would’ve liked to due to the incline or grade of the ground on this site . The ground was just too muddy and the slanted , ground was water logged. So advice here is this : if the forecast calls for rain avoid this site! Regardless of the less than pleasant task of cleaning up after careless campers ….the lake, rocks and surrounding natural areas near this campground make for some magical memories! Remember to leave the space you occupied better than you found it! Lessons to live by!

You need information about camps in the Porcupine Mtns State Park. There are cabins available during winter, 2 possibly 3. The rest are interior and ruggedly hard to get to. Lilly Pond is interior. Near Mirror Lake cabin also hard to get to in winter. Gitchi gumi, Whitetail, Speakers are the names of ones I have stayed at in winter.
No unfortunately not yet
If you can get in on a weekday you'll have the best chance. Especially before midweek.
Call early about 7or8am if they are open they can save a spot that night for you.
Also depends on if your local or visiting from another state. We had space 27 by the water and paid 28 a night. There truly is no bad spot at this park. Been going there for 20yrs now.
