We went with a tour group. Our group was in 3 different compartments. We had to juggle tickets around for even couples be in same compartment but this was not the fault of the dinner train...it was fabulous. Great service, food and train ride.

I actually work on the dinner train. I am sorry you were disappointed in the ride renae. I'm not sure what more you expected from a train ride, but I'm glad you enjoyed the food and service. Before saying you would not do it again, maybe you should consider one of our special runs. While they may be a tad more expensive (or about the same price if you don't upgrade the apps) they may give you the "more" you expected. We have the bourbon run for people that like bourbon. There is a rep from a certain distillery (different one each ride) that will tell you the history of certain bourbons from that distillery. You get three shots of different bourbon and a mixed drink all included in the ticket price. There is also a murder mystery ride where you get to watch an interactive live play and try to solve the mystery. Prizes are given from a draw of guests who got it right! Then we have the polar express rides in December. We have santa on the train! This one is for the kids!!

We went on a Saturday evening, and upgraded our appetizers. It came out to $200 each. I expected more from the ride and was somewhat disappointed. However, the food was excellent, our server was superb and it's not something I'd drive that far to do again.

We did the lunch train back in May for our 38th anniversary. We loved it. Changing directions was a little rough. Motion sickness. Weathered through it but it was through the glory of God. I highly recommend it. A beautiful ride and everyone was.so pleasant. Made new friends as well.
