Its almost like shooting in the forest but they built benches etc.. Be respectful and mindful but yeah you're pretty much out there on your own. But just like the other guy commented, he's dead on.. $5 per person, bring all your own stuff, etc. etc.
$5.00 for the day per car. The range has 25, 50, and 100 yard target stations. Pay upon entering and place a hangtag on your dash or rearview mirror. READ and FOLLOW the rules that are posted. It is a unsupervised public access range. You will encounter shooters of all skill levels. If you need help ask the other shooters you may very well make great new friends in the process. Make sure you have eye and ear protection. You will need to provide your own targets. The little store on 411 near the range usually has some. Clean up your trash including targets when you leave. Take some bug spray.
Highly recommend you go to a good indoor range with a Range Safety Officer. The public ranges are variable in attendance, and you get mostly respectful, safe people. But, they are public...
