I have lived here for over 10 years. To rent a boat brings you closer to the whales and the captains are extremely informative the lady who runs the whale Research Center is a biologist who worked with Jacque Cousteau I would recommend going out on her zodiac. The view from the shoreline gives you the ability to see the whales spout and in the late summer and fall the whales come closer to the Shoreline otherwise they're about 50 yards out to Sea

Boat is worth it. Lots more sightings, and very close up

Hard to know how close they will come to shore, so if you have that option your odds are better

Your looking through telescopes and Binocs and waiting. I think take a boat to them if thats your thing. Up close and personel.

We were going to do a boat tour, but storms kept us from going out. I would think the boat would be well worth it!

I'd say the boat would be worth it but I never did it.
