Nancy you might want to check out the natural bridges trail which is near moaning caverns. There is a cave at the pit stop but it has water on the floor so people usually bring something to put on their feet and it can be very popular so i like to go early for parking. Check it out online. I love walking the creek that comes out of the cave very pretty.
Moaning Cavern is mainly stairs (235 steps one way & 235 bak up). California Cavern is a fairly flat walk, a few fairly small steps. Moaning is open daily, and California Cavern may not be open yet (call for more info).
Calufornia cavern would be better for you
Especially the entrance is a little thigh for you son needs, but there's another attraction e can do , like flying with a cable from one mountain to other mountain, gold prospect.....call for details.
Definately not a place for your son. Accessible only by a spiral 100ft staircase.
Moaning cavern is not cave with a flat grade. It is literally a cavern that goes strait down. On the other hand try out California cavern, it has a much easier walk. Not steep and plenty of hand rails. California cavern is a bit farther but still a great place to go.
I agree, the beginning of the walk is also extremely close not good for those who don't do well in tight places. I would say you need to be physically fit for this tour.
To get into the caverns, you will need to go down many many steps in small.circular stairwell. The area is walkable but i wouldn't advise the caverns for special needs.
Yes was just there these all sound correct. I would have to say it all depends on how limited, physically , your child is. Don't forget there is also a zipline
Very large spiral staircase and some very narrow steep stairs.
