I haven't seen elk meat in Safeway. I recently moved here, so Im not sure about California regulations on game meat. It is often sold by meat processing companies; not sure what's available locally.

I think they have small packages of Buffalo meat. Not sure on the elk though. You might try Wild Rivers Market on "M" St. right across from Safeway. They have a good selection of different kinds of Organic meats.

You need to ask the butcher, if not there he might know where.
