It was nice to visit a grocery store in a new town far away from all of the grocery stores that I am used to. The store was very clean and well stocked. The seafood section was great. There was a huge selection of fresh fish. All of the employees were so friendly and helpful. The produce was very fresh and well stocked. Non of the apples were bruised and the isles smelled so fresh. I have to make a special thanks to Michelle for helping me pick out some fresh melons. She had an experience and knowledge of melon ripening. She was so cute and helpful. Next time I stop by I might have here show me how tho husk the corn with one hand. The beer selection was great as well. And they had a huge wine selection. I will definitely stop by again when I am camping down the road. It was only a twenty minute drive from the Mills Creek campground. I will have to stop by and say hello to Michelle and see how the fresh melons are.

Safeway! The Safeways of today, here, on the southern Oregon and northern California coasts are, surprisingly, after some five decades since I first experienced them in my home state of Texas, where I worked my way through college with them as a "night stocker" over a five year period owing nobody a single dime upon graduation, are pretty much the same great value as they have always been for America! Although now owned by a huge conglomerate, they still represent something that is very good about America! Thank you, Safeway, for continuing to be the constant that you have always been! Can you imagine a student loan of 200,000 USD that the kids of today have accumilated? Maybe, in some ways, we need to return to the sacrifices of yesterday for a happier today? Long live Safeway!

For just getting into town for a weekend trip at the end of the day it was a lifesaver 1030 at night when most things were closing and we didn't have to resort to fast food. Still clean still stocked. Only one poor guy at the check out, but he was friendly too.
