A week in advance should be good.. but yes for a special occation or a day like valentines day atleast a couple of weeks in advance. Yes cash is accepted too..
For holidays, I would suggest a few weeks at least. For a guaranteed reservation, they'll probably want a credit card.
We have been there twice. Both on Saturdays but never during a holiday. If you want a window make reservations a few days in advance.
They do accept cash. For reservations, it depends on what day you're reserving for. For any holiday (Valentines day) I would make it as early as possible. For other days you typically want to make it a few days to a week in advance
