As another Noah, I can confirm this as well. You don't need to be a member to shop here, and I hope suggest you do! This place is amazing!
Hi Ian! Noah is correct, you do NOT have to be a member in order to pirchase items or take any classes from REI. However, the membership is a one-time fee of $20 and allows you to earn a percentage back from your purchases, which you will receive as a dividend payment (since it is a co-op) at the end of each year. There are many more incentives, but -in my opinion - the dividend makes it worth it all by itself! 😊
